Internet Shyness FAQ

This article originally began as an unofficial FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions file) in 1988 to the Usenet newsgroup alt.support.shyness. The author, a participant in the group, posted a message to the group in August, 1998 observing the lack of an FAQ, offering to create one, and asking for suggestions. The participation of the members of alt.support.shyness was not overwhelming. Finally, the author created this document. It has been expanded and added to over the years.

In 2008, AOL discontinued its Hometown AOL web hosting service-without warning and without giving users the opportunity to save their files. Fortunately,the author had a local copy of this website and decided to create a new domain, ShyFAQ.com to host it. The document is no longer a FAQ for alt.support.shyness, but for the greater Internet community as a whole.
